You are always one up on me!

I have maybe been to Chicago many, many more times than you (30+ times spanning from my high school graduation night many moons ago to the present day!) and you always find something unique and facinating. I may have to make a special trip to the Windy City just to see the Cloud Gate!

Next time you visit Chicago, head north on the North Shore Drive 15-20 minutes to Evanston for a fun book-lover's experience. I know Evanston is noted for Northwestern University (founder of NU - John Evans) but I have found (all by myself) that there is a 2nd-hand book store where they weigh the books you buy by the pound - thus the name "Market Fresh Books." The 2nd one is called "Bookman's Alley" and it is very, very old, and it is in an alley! Across from Bookman's is my favorite place called the "Alley Gallery" with old prints, posters and cards....... in a very old brick building with short ceilings and old wood floors - very quaint and right up my alley! ............. km

P.S. ..... there is a neat old-fashioned bakery nearby also + a fun ice cream parlor ........ how is that for "frosting on the cake" ?

That must have been such a perfect day! I can't believe I never made it to Kelly Point to see the confluence . . . especially since I remember clearly a bike ride along N. Marine Drive where I turned left onto N. Lombard rather than right - at the entrance of the Kelly Point Park!
