My story of macarons began in Tokyo, but continues in Paris. I was studying abroad last winter. On my way home, I went to Paris. Anyone who loves macarons will stop at Ladurée, a “salon de thé,” which Louis Ernest Ladurée began as a bakery in 1862 on the rue Royale.
